Autism
It is a neurological disorder that hampers normal brain development thereby affecting the cognition, ability to communicate, social interaction, and certain behavior of the child.
It is characterized by:
- Lack of eye contact.
- Sensitivity to sounds, smell, touch, etc.
- Stereotype behaviors – hand flapping, spinning an object.
- Repeating words or phrases.
- Lack of social interaction.
- Fine or Gross motor skill problem.
- Compulsive behavior.
- Speech delay. Non-verbal communication.
- Interest in the limited number of things/ inattentiveness.
- Unaware of others emotions.
